We are European Movement in Wandsworth and Merton!

Latest news:

Even though the UK has left the EU we will not stop highlighting the damage and the missed opportunities that this continues to bring to ordinary people in the UK.

Many of our members were active in the Remain campaign prior to the 2016 referendum and, since 2017, we have been a branch of European Movement UK, and have worked on making the case for a rethink on Brexit through events such as street stalls, social functions, speaker meetings, and interactions with our five local MPs across the two boroughs.

Our activities have been frequently covered by the local press and radio, and also in media as far afield as South Korea!

We’ve co-ordinated studies, such as our reports on the effects of Brexit on local businesses, which were published in 2018 and 2021, and served to really put Brexit under the microscope in our area, by providing real-world case studies and views. The concept was then rolled out across the country via a National Business report (2023), and a further Business Impact report (2025) which helped inform public debate, proving beyond doubt that Brexit isn’t working for firms up and down the UK.

Our latest project, going into 2025, is to find a new European twin town for Wandsworth and another for Merton – click here to read more and to find out how you can help
